Details and updates as we prepare for upcoming Episcopal Elections

About the Safe India Missionary Diocese is calling SIM DIOCESE Nominating Electoral Board.

OUR DIOCESAN NOMAINATING ELECTORAL BOARD:

Nominating Electoral Board has been formed and commissioned with preparing a list of qualified candidates for two episcopal elections. 

The first happened in 2023 to elect our next diocesan bishop. 

The second is still to come at our synod in the fall of 2023 to elect another suffrage bishop, most likely to serve as Area Bishop in the India.

This committee is chaired by our the most rev. Diocese,  Metropolitan Bishop Devadoss Pathra and composed of Bishop’s and lay leaders from across the diocese.

A Guide for Prayerful Discernment in the Election of a New Bishop

The Safe India Missionary Diocese Council to have appointed the Nominating Electoral Committee: 

Ensure proper notification of the upcoming episcopal elections and provide guidelines for nominating candidates. 

Ensure nominated candidates meet the requirements of Safe India Missionary Diocese Canons and Customary and Safe India Missionary Diocese canons. 

The NEB will determine who has successfully completed the screening process. 

Prepare a final list of candidates for election including pertinent information and Provide suggestions on how to conduct the election at Synod.
